I have an 05 r6. The guys said at 16,000 miles I needed to bring it back in to have somthing done....valve adjustment i think. Like $450 though! Is that an ok price? And is this all accurate stuff....

Also, my friend has an 08 ninja 250 he just bought new. They said he needed to bring it back in a 500 miles. And it would be 450 also....is this for the same reason and should it all cost this much? Thanks...

For brand new, its like between 600-1000 miles. Yea, its for valve adjustments and oil change and what not.
My shadow is up for the 16k service here in a couple 1k miles. And my ninja is up for the 600 mile one now, lol. Good thing i have the service plan for both!

no one is doing valve adjustments between 600-1000 miles. and if they tell you that they are then theyre lying to you, and taking your money.

they are just checking if everything is holding together good in the first service and yes sometimes valves can get out of clearance just cause its everythings first drive. Ive seen the valves go out of clearance in the first 600 before but all they do is listen mainly cause its just a check unless they need to be.

no, its a $400 - $600 dollar anal raping without any lube. a service manual ripped off the internet for free and a torque wrench borrowed from someone (everybody knows someone with a torque wrench) and you can do what they do for free.

The 05 R6's shim and bucket valvetrain won't need adjustment til 26k miles i believe.

So is it worth me taking my bike in at 16k and paying 450 for them to F with some shit?
