where is a good place to get a paint job? also what would a paint job cost?

yea. a grand is a little steep. esp. since its not my bike its my wifes, lol.

lol yea. I got primered body panels off ebay. They needed some body work which got expensive quick. I also had 9 pieces.

what kind of paint do u use to paint fairings? if i took my time and had patience would i be able to do this myself?

I dont really know to much about painting. I just took my pieces into a shop and told him to do it all in this color and he did.

My brother rattle canned his old 600rr flat black, and people thought it was done with a paint gun in a paint booth. He just took his time, and did a good job, and expensive paint over the course of like 4 days.

you could do it yourself. Rattle can looks good if you know what you're doing.

Sand it down all smooth with some semi course, then medium grit. finish with fine grit. clean really well. If you're going white, then get some gray primer, so you can tell where you are missing spots etc, and put a bunch of coats on. Try to not let it drip. Once you're all done with that, sand with some like.. 1000 grit? wet sand. Then start spraying the white. Put a bunch of coats on. Wet sand with 2000 grit. I left mine like that and polished it with some nu-finish and it looked dam good. The even clear coat it if you like.

As for pink rims.. powdercoat.

Ya, like someone else already said, go out to west o and go to snow auto and get some paint. My old 97 suzuki 750 someone tipped over at a party and I painted. I used the HOK (House of kolor) paint, it cost about $100 a quart, but I only needed a quart. Just go in there tell them u need everything to paint a bike, primer, hardner, and what not (they'll know) take all the fairings off yourself and sand them (assuming it doesnt need body work) and just find a buddy with a gun to spray them for you. I think you could probably have it done for cheap, assuming you can do some of the dirty work yourself.
