If you are going somewhere close, and not in traffic, i dont see the need for a helmet.. As long as you are riding safe, and not fucking around.
But yea, he looks like he is in traffic.. and seeing how he is riding a gixxer (they usually have to prove they're not gay like every 17 minutes) he was probably attempting wheelies and shit.

shorts, and a tshirt are my attire.
if i am just using it for transportation that is about all i wear. if i am riding hard or doing something fun i might throw on jeans and occasionally i even wear a helmet.
but seriously just for riding to work and stuff you dont need all that extra gear.

^ im with this guy, ive been down twice with no gear and still just some bumps and scrapes. dont tell me that this guy is a squid cause i rarely see any of us with gear on. the only thing we wear is gloves and helmets, and even you can attest to that jake. but i do not agree with him on the no helmet thing. my helmet is as much a part of my bike as my gas tank is, i can come back from a broken leg or what not but not a broken skull!

i wont deny im a squid by most definitions.
as far as helmets go i just dont like shoving one on my head for short rides around town. now if i am on the highway or know i will be giving her hell or even think i might be then i bring the helmet with.

no its not true, but at the same time i've seen a guy go down with no helmet and his skull didnt split or break...it broke open. and his brains were on the pavement and the guy was still alive with his brain matter smeared ten feet before his body. Take it for what it is

I ride with full gear every time. I ride at 1 in the afternoon when its 95 degrees out. Find a jacket that lets breathes well. I would rather scratch up my jacket then my back or arms. Why put yourself in that pain if you dont have to?

mine breaths fine with i'm riding. I'm still looking for that jacket that doesn't make me stiff and still breathes

my jacket is a little stiff in the sleeves cause they are leather but still is loose enough that I can move around.

I wear jeans and a t shirt, unless its kinda chilly, then a long sleeve/sweatshirt and gloves. If its cold, then my jacket and gloves. always a helmet, unless im going 2 blocks to a friends house, but wouldnt go on any main roads without one.
