swap?

hey i have a 99 zx6-e and i just bought a motor wireing harness and ect for a 2000 zx6-r. will that swap out? there both carb. lmk thanks

Everything will hook up okay, but your going to have problems with a lot of the sensors. Just for example, the rev-limiter on the 6e is 500 rpm less than the r... Although I'm not positive on that specific example you will run into small problems like this. If you start the bike with the .r harness it could over rev, your TPS sensor will also prob be different. Just some input.

so would you suggest that i leave E harness in and just swap motor/tranny/carbs or wat would you do?

honestly if you want 2000 in a 99 swap it all. my kawi was 03 bike but 02 motor and it ran piss poor. Be safe and swap year matching stuff vs mix and match. although bikes visually changed little during style gens they change electrical stuff and performance stuff to make up for it. jim says it should work but it might make it run different than you may be used to. Like jake says electrical on bikes is so hard because you don't know what you are going to mess up, fry the ecu, or smoke sensors. so IMO use year matching items.

haha i acually tore bike down and turns out it wont even mount up. im so pissed but ohwell.
