View Full Version : Work Log for my 07 ZX6R

Mods are in my sig lol. Bought a polished TD04 turbo in august but just decided to get a better nitrous system and a bigger shot so I went with a dynotune twin tank twin jet setup. This winter I am adding the extensions and probally painting the bike orange and keeping the frame and wheels black. My best time so far is 10.7 132mph 1.75 0-60ft at KRP this July. First time out netted me 1.9-2.2 0-60ft's lol with 11.1- 11.9 1/4.'s 0-60 will improve more yet with lowering and extension hopefully. No times on nitrous yet. Setup and self tune seems to be pretty good though ran 3 tanks through so far. Feels about like downshifting two gears with the 50hp jet lol.

More like a 14 with a 50 shot not as much tq though. I was running close to new 1k's just with the cams and I had -1+2 gearing at the time. lol Judging by my last dyno and adding my cams and nitrous and Bazzaz I should be atleast 170whp. Yea my launch has gotten better for sure having a track here, my runs were N/A before spray. You hit 10's with your R1 in kearney? Not saying you didn't but best liter time I have seen here in town so far is an 08 R1 running 11.2. I think it's our track elevation.

EDIT: Btw looks like you got #1 down there now. Going to have to get back into some lincoln racing for sure. Kearney is boring.

Right on just sounded really fast for an 04 R1 from the bikes I have seen at the track here that's awesome to run that. I should be mid 9 with spray and swingarm extension next year, probally sitting high 9 as is with spray. Well have to race when I come up I'm stuck racing modded cars and guys that can't race on bikes here lol.

My best last July. I wish you had raced both tracks so I could see if it was worthwhile goign to KCIR I have heard it's a good track. They make you wear leather pants or just leather jacket and gloves?

I just wore jeans and boots. they said unless you break in the 9's you wont need full leathers.

Right on that's what kearney requires. I got a pic from my race but they snapped it too soon it was right as the light changed just had lifted my feet up(note the beam markers). Not the pic I was expecting.

Blazin was going to fab a turbo kit for it with a TD04 so we started getting parts for it and I backed out due to the costs involved in tuning and setup. Maybe next year.

So what was your old n20 system? were you running that for the 10.7?

No I didn't have nitrous at the time I was at the track. That was with cams, -1+2, 4-2-1 header and PC3. My old nitrous system was a NOS brand 25 shot though.

What brand of exhaust you running - GP style... Brand?

Also if you are going to stretch it, check out this company, very affordable and not as cheap-looking as extentions IMO.

-PC3 vs PC5
-cam/intake/velocity stacks, etc etc.

I don't know anything about making a bike fast and am looking for advice, I am going with a 6" stetch and -1 +3 sprockets lowered in the rear 2", custom paint and some other cosmetic goodies as well.

Please keep the flaming about how gay stretching a 600/buy a 1k/ etc etc etc. trust me, Iv heard it all already.

Exhaust it's a custom made 4-2-1 header myself and a buddy from an exhaust shop made from a stock header it only has an undertail dump basically. I sold the Yoshi and went with this for power and sound. 9whp from this setup.

Bazzaz Z-Fi = Basically their Zfi plus the TC combined.

I have the Roaring toyz black extensions already just need to install them but I have to get a longer chain first.

As far as yours PC5 isn't available but PC3 is and I believe Bazzaz makes a unit for your bike. I started with PC3 and like Bazzaz alot better. Nitrous make sure you start out with a small shot = 25 then tune and go from there. Also use it on stock gearing before usng it geared. I started on a 25 shot with -2+2 gearing and it hit too hard to be usable in second. I like the -1+1 for nitrous so it still does 165mph caibrated. Cams you will have to look up or call Kawi. I use the Team green cams.

I'd pull mine up in 3rd and click through 6th... you forget I wheelie'd the R1 to 130mph + multiple occasions...

yea I was also running abotu a 2.6 0-60ft when we raced lol. About 65 more hp since we raced and more gearing right at the new zx14 strock hp with spray. now my plate reads LTRETR lol

Pat.. My bike runs the same as other bikes at the same track. Obviously times are slower in Kearney. Your bike would be much slower in Kearney. Most 600s are high 11 low 12 here and 1k's are low 11's here. If you are saying a 600 with cams and gearing and nitrous is slower than a 1k you are crazy. You can't possibly believe that? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but you seem defensive. For example an 03-04 R1 stock normally dynos 130-140hp tops. My dyno'd 112 at dynosport with just a slip-on and jumper mod. Added a -1 sprocket kept it a few bikes from 03R1 on this site. That was at 112hp and me having no launch practice whatsoever. Since I have changed gearing, added camshafts, 50HP nitrous, and a high dollar tuning computer, putting me close if not at 170hp to the wheel. What is so hard to believe I am at stock busa/zx14 power level on spray and you say it's not 1k level? I have raced track and street on 07-08 bikes GSXR 1k and R1 and still pulled hard. Unless you have a super prototype 04? If you are just confused we can race when I move up but hope you do some serious mods. I stay right by new liters off spray right now. I can also race my ass off. :)

Anywho. If you were trying to give me a hard time I remember when I used to think I was unbeatable qouting magazine times at sealevel and race in uncontrolled street conditions where excuses run rampant. Also comparing times from different tracks not having raced at them all assuming because I know all. Then I raced for a season at the strip and realized I wasn't as good as I thought and my bike wasn't king shit and practiced up and spent thousands on mods then quit talking and just had fun racing. Again no hard feelings and I look forward to getting back into that #1 spot down there :)

Haha and I reread that. My 10 second run was without nitrous and no tuning or Bazzaz and less gearing. I suppose a 50 shot and the other mods mentioned won't drop me much right? I'm done thanks for the intresting convo.

My bike dyno'd stock at 148hp. An 03 is a diffenent bike. I am running equivalent times to 9 second runs with bolt on mods.


Searching ninja forums, cams give 3-7 real hp, YAY! From 100ish to 110 at the wheel! So then a 50 shot puts you about where my bike with simple mods is. Dyno it. You put out 170hp, i'll eat my words, until then... I just laugh.

You talk about practicing at a track and are still running shitty 60ft times? I think nickels pulled equivalent 60' times with his 500r...

You want to say a 600 with cams, n2o, and whatever is equal to a 1k? Mike pitcock ran his STOCK Gsxr 1k to times in the 1/8th(6.1X) that got him kicked off the track. Are you there yet?

If you don't have a progressive n2o controller, good luck hooking that 50 instant shot on the streetz....you are no where near zx14 times, neither am I.

i have used the spray already not worried about handling it. as far as dynos mine was at dynosport. 112 hp before cams, bazzaz and 50 shot.

I would love to see Reaper win the number 1 spot back but I have seen 1k's do some pretty outrageous things stock that no 600 i have ever seen had a chance of doing. I got to ride my cousins GSX-R1000 in houston a month or so ago and the power is amazing, he had some simple bolt ons, a cheap gp pipe and 20k+ miles on the bike. It still dynoed at 167 at the wheel. its a 2007. It was still pulling harder at 165mph than any 600 I have ever ridden ever will.

All that being said, I would love to see your bike dyno at 170, because it gives me hope of beating stock 1ks when I get my bike done. :)

Anyone know who makes a more programmable fuel management than a PCIII for my 2006 ZX6R? I cant find anything and Bazzaz and PC5 arent available.

Does anyone make just an aftermarket header for bikes, or should I just find someone that wrecked with a full system and buy the header off them?

ha damnit i ran a 6.7, but it was also 32degrease out and i spun and that was my first time ever on a track with the r1.. i deff need more practice, i never realized how much diff it was to launch on a track then on the street

uhm it was the kearny cruise day or whatever this summer. they asked me a bunch of questions about what all i had done to the bike and they said i would need full leathers and the kill switch to run there.. might be cause of the day not really sure.. there was a busa and another guy there running but they had full leathers

tuning software is the same for pc3 as what the tuners use for it. with pc3 you can download addons like accelerator pump tuning and ignition if you have the ignition module. also the new pc doesnt have a model for anything older than 09 for kawi.

yea thats what i mean 10s arent seen by bikes much in kearney. i think the track is slower. i saw a newer r1 running low 11s. hibs did hit a 10.4 on his zx12 that is on dynosports website with 155ish hp. thats why i didnt think my 10.7 was too bad at krp.

yea but he was also lowerd and geard -1 in front.. that and he could launch pretty damn good, i watched many of his races..

Yep he has the quickest bike time I have seen at KRP. He used to beat stock Busa's with that thing.

i just want to hit mid 9s on spray once i stretch and lower. if it goes quicker if it goes quicker awesome if not thats ok too. should be high 9s as is i cant spray 0-60ft which sucks lol. i usually spray mid 2nd gear.
