believe it or not, your bike had to be broke in at one point in time also! unless those kawis just use magic tricks to get them broken in

BAHAHAHAAHAH!!!! by following the manufacturer suggested break in procedure you did more harm then good. To break it in run the engine til it reaches op temp. shut it down and let it cool. then run it again til its warm and do some hard riding, low gear bringing you rpm up and then letting the engine braking slow you back down, then again, again, again, again, again, again. let it cool off. start it up and warm it, then again, again, again, again, again, again, again, and bingo. bike is broke it. That is the way to seat your rings, if you do the manufacturer way then your rings will never seat properly because your cylinders will glaze to quick

ya i know about that method. but i bought my bike with like 90 miles already on it. i was told that the rings seat in the first 70-80 miles. so i figured if i had nothing to do with the rings seating, i would just do it how the manufacture says to. well i have ridden it harder than they say to, but still kinda dont want to really push it until i get over 1000 miles like they say. i figure if they say to do it that way there must be a reason for it.

the reasoning is so people dont go spread a brand new bike across the pavement. hard on it for 50 miles or so change the oil, check your chain slack and ride on....

well first i need to change the oil and filter and plugs since ive been putting that off since i bought it... im just going to get a tre "timing retard eliminator" advanced timing ignition, and i want to get it tuned better... that should hopefully put me at my damn 140 i want..... if not turbo....!

That would be pretty insane though to have a turbo R1. I have always toyed with the idea of buying an early 90's 600cc or 750cc and putting a turbo on it. But I would probably get into way to much trouble. And I don't think my parents would be okay with me having 2 motorcycles in their garage. :lol:

Not quite sure beyond exhaust and engine tuning. I have not messed with performance much with my bike yet cause parts are so damn expensive.... and it kinda needs to be ridable before I can think about making it faster :lol:

nah its perfect weather for riding... hmm ok maybe 90 degreas sounds better with no wind but ive been riding for the past 3 weeks now... hmmm i need to find someone that know alot about performance on bikes so i can kinda get a idea of all what to do... plus im a little pissed off about friday night... i dont know if any of you know jon but he has that silver evo... well we raced from a hole shot and i only beat him by 3 1/2 cars... but that was the first time i have ever raced from a launch so it kinda sucked... but still only 3 1/2 pissed me off

Yea that does suck about the race. But the more launching you do with you bike the better you will get at it. I heard you also had to let off a couple times cause of other issues. If you wouldn't have had to do that I bet you would have beat him by way more than 3 car lengths

wow didnt know people heard about thatrace already... yea i had to let off in second 2 times because my shift light somehow got set for like 9 grand so i went to shift to 3rd and was like uhm no i still have 3 grand left so once i gotinto 3rd i started pulling again and well the crosswinds started blowing me twards his lane and i dont have side mirrors so not sure if he was next to me or whatso i let off quick and jerked back to the left side and nailed it again... ugh to much messing around but still 3 damn cars ugh....

I would get a feel for riding your bike before modding more. I just had a friend die in sept. If you are having launch problems and a hard timing keeping the wheel down just give it a bit of practice on an open road.

i just raised mine up and i'll tell you now. the bike rode ten times better up then down. i wasn't any faster and the front never goes up but i don't hardly push it.
