2004 Suzuki GSX-R 600
3600 miles as of now

Original color scheme: yellow and black

Mods so far: nothing really, new shift lever and pegs

I've got fairings on the way. Jordan blue/white theme. Painting the tank white, maybe with a decal or two or somethin.

Got a oem windscreen and a headlight on the way as well

Mr. Jeff

what are you doing with your head light now?
no plan for a can yet? if you do, get a yoshi

Burntz
04-15-2008, 03:38 PM
I can't decide on what to do for a headlight. You can't find one with all the tabs still ok for under $200 :(

As for a pipe, id like a yoshi but they get expensive.

I found one on ebay, level one racing? They had sound clips of it and it sounded really good.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzuki-G ... enameZWDVW (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzuki-GSXR-600-750-1000-Exhaust-Carbon-Fiber-10-Race_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35596QQihZ021QQite mZ310041372228QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW)

What ya think?

Take that back, found some yoshi rs3's on ebay for decently cheap. Gonna try gettin one

slip on means just the muffler bolted to stock exhaust right?

triumph955i
04-15-2008, 03:42 PM
yup. So its basically just for sound/show. Some people get a little bit out of them but nothin substantial.

Fairings will look pretty decent. Where you getting the tank painted? I wish i had money to start modding my bike.. except they dont make the hypercharger for my bike :(

Burntz
04-17-2008, 09:15 PM
ill have a shop do it, preferably somewhere good like miracle workers or somethin

your bike already looks pretty pimp tho

Burntz
04-18-2008, 05:35 AM
UPDATE:

Windshield arrived today, in excellent shape. Hopefully the yoshi comes tomorrow or saturday *crosses fingers*

Is their an exhaust gasket I'll be needing? and where do I get a strap for it?

I'm pretty much a noob with bikes, i know a bit, but the majority comes from what I know about cars

Nickels
04-18-2008, 10:46 AM
No, i like the look of my bike, i wanna mod it to make it a little quicker.

I dont believe you need any gaskets.. strap as in clamp? autozone may have it.

triumph955i
04-18-2008, 04:45 PM
I dont know about Suzuki, but my Triumph has 2 springs that hold the can to the exhaust pipe. Maybe the same for a Suzuki I dont know.

Burntz
04-18-2008, 05:15 PM
Im talking a strap that goes around the pipe and mounts to where the old muffler mounts. I could rig somethin up but id rather do it right.

And no gasket? Id think it'd have one? If it does its prolly metal so i could prolly re-use it from my stocker, ill check it out when it comes in . Meanwhile need to find the support.

triumph955i
04-18-2008, 05:25 PM
Oh that strap. It should come with your exhaust.

Burntz
04-18-2008, 05:38 PM
I bought it from a guy off ebay tho, so im doubting it will come with it :\

Nickels
04-18-2008, 06:02 PM
Ask him if he can send you one or something.. Or get one from SCM

Burntz
04-18-2008, 08:35 PM
Ill get somethin figured out

UPDATE:

Got my stocker off, got the oil changed, ITS FUCKING LOUD without a can. Christ. Sounds badass idling though haha.

Heading to autozone to get new studs or maybe just bolts to mount the yoshi up.

The thing is rediculously light so Ill just wait till monday to run to SCM, should be fine without a strap till then. Won't be riding till then anyway prolly.

04-26-2008, 04:29 AM
ya dude i was like hell ya jeff is finally over again. Kiel is lookin at the bike, he prolly wants to buy it. im still torn on selling it or not. If i can find someone to weld it, ill weld the subbframe and enforce it.

talked to a guy at SCM today, he said their shouldn't be any "resetting" needed, he said probe all the wires from the starter switch back, cover any bare wires, check all fuses, and try jumping the starter solenoid.

so sunday kiel is comin over w/ his multi meter and we're gonna figure out wtf is wrong. should be goin by next week.

01F4izzy
04-26-2008, 04:35 AM
dont sell it! i know someone who could possibly weld the subframe. he is a welder at my work and is damn good at it, but idk if he will i will have to ask him bout it.

Nickels
04-26-2008, 12:45 PM
My brother has a welder.. and welds everyday at work. He is in teh process of making a mini truck (his 2nd one) so he has welded frames and shit before without them braking. I can see if he has time to do it.

Mr. Jeff
04-26-2008, 01:28 PM
IT HAS TO BE A TIG WELDER

Nickels
04-26-2008, 02:24 PM
Oh, didnt know that. Your caps lock get stuck?

Mr. Jeff
04-26-2008, 02:29 PM
i was letting everyone know before tryin to weld on it.

Nickels
04-26-2008, 02:30 PM

Still outside painting, but now its dark so I can't really take any pictures. Its 85% done though. Ill get some good ones up tomorrow when its fully painted and cleaned well. Oh and still have to sand + paint the front hugger.

Looks like its still missing a bolt..

Burntz
05-14-2008, 11:33 PM
I havn't put the new subframe on yet, I need this long ass screw that goes through the front and though the gas tank thingy.

01F4izzy
05-15-2008, 05:05 AM
just get some all-thread and do it... will that work?

Burntz
05-17-2008, 01:53 AM

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i232/xBurntzx/0518081513.jpg

The screw for the spacer on the gas tank was perfectly fine actually, it was where the screw barely screws in on the other side that broke off the subframe and made it loose. Dam shitty subframes :(

I have all the bolts in it too, not riding around with those ones missing, its all their and good to go :)

Side Notes: Polished up paint, gauges, and tailight with that headlight restorer shit, and it worked amazing
Also: The shifter peg and shifter were coming loose and I tightened them up last night

Burntz
05-22-2008, 08:32 PM
Ordered a 520 sprocket conversion set for the bike. -1 +2 i think, says lose about 10% top speed, thats fine with me :D

Got the gold chain too for an extra 10 bucks, 175 altogether.

And chet just got his in, -1 +8

Mr. Jeff
05-22-2008, 10:26 PM
you have a 520 stock

Nickels
05-24-2008, 02:12 AM
I think i have a 520 stock also.

Burntz
05-24-2008, 02:46 PM
All 520 Conversion kits come with a lightweight 7075-T6 alloy rear sprocket, drilled and lightened case hardened front sprocket, and x-ring racing chain cut to length.

Bolt-on horsepower gains of 5-7% are typical from the parts alone. But combine this with one of our gearing ratios and you can transform your bike into something you didn't think possible.

This is a quick and easy way to gain performance and replace your stock pieces for less money.

The chain for this kit is supplied with a clip-type masterlink. If you prefere a rivet-type please request that during checkout.

Upgrade your kit with a Gold x-ring chain by adding that option to your cart after the drive kit.
For more specific information on our sprocket products, how they work, and help determine which one is right for you

I know that shit, alotta shit I've read on stuntlife and shit says that its easier to hit BP on an f4i or 636, and that a f4i is alot smoother with a lack of power while the 636 has the extra power but a choppy throttle

dunno why you had to call me out tho

01F4izzy
07-20-2008, 04:45 AM

F4i is known to bog a little (like mine) and everyone says 636 is smooth like butta, apparently when you get to the harder shit, like circles, zukis are gaaahhhhbage. and adjusting the idle for idle tricks is kinda a bitch too.

these are words from a good stunt rider that rides an 05 gsxr now:

"so finally got on a 636 for the first time today at the lot. this kid rolled up with his stunted out 636 and got to ride it and OMG. bike fucking rocked!! soo smooth. I fell in love instantly after the first wheelie. I didn't want to stop riding it. after coming from a f4i then a gsxr wow

so any one want to trade a 05 gsxr 600 fully setup for a 636????"

so i would say the 636 is some good shit. ive herd lots of gixxers lack power too, im not sayin tht because i dont like them, just what ive herd. and jeremy's 07 sure is a DOG to ride... but this guy dont have any problems:

Jeff, some bikes are better at things where others phail at them.
Its like cars.. What makes a 4 cylinder honda different from a 4 cylinder hyundai? Its because Hyundais suck. Im not saying Suzuki suck.. But from the sounds of it, stunting is not there strong point.. They just need to stick to rolling burnouts, huh ;)
And also, if one is to give advice, i think that person giving advice should be able to do what they are talking about..

Mr. Jeff

the only stunt bike i would own is a f4i or a 02-04 gsxr 600. ryans 636 just doesnt feel right and i would never have a yam.

thats because yams are pure breed track bikes. suzukis are cruisers and the rest are for odd ball stuff.

Well put it like this, Honda and Kawi have two crotch rocket bikes

Honda: F4i, and CBR rr
Kawi : 636, 929, 954, etc, then zx6r, zx10r, etc.

Yamaha: Only the r6, r1, etc right?
Suzuki: GSX-R . Thats it

Im not talking half breeds or anything, all out crotch rockets.

F4i's and 636's just seem to naturally be good for wheelies, stunting, etc. the CBR and zx's are better for speed/cornering. I'm pretty sure the manufacturers meant to do this, why else make two bikes?

Considerings the GSX-R was long known as one of the best track bikes, i'd say its pretty decent at stunting. They tried to combine it all into one.

Mr. Jeff

kawasaki didnt make a ninja "636"
they made a Ninja ZX6R which was 636cc
and they made a ZX6RR which was 599cc **** note the extra R.

No manufacturer was thinking of stunt riding when they designed the motorcycles, only a couple of them even recognize it.

the f4i was a follow up to the F4, which was a follow up to the F3 and so on. the F4I was fuel injected, hence the I. honda didnt have a 1000cc "crotch rocket" they had the 954 and the 929. the thing that makes the f4i the bike everyone wants is the durability and the parts available. its kinda like the small block chevy, shits everywhere.

well i was kidding about the cheating thing... your just takin different steps than me, its hard as fuck to learn shit on stock gears with no handbrake, but im learning that way so when i get gears and a handbrake ima be killin shit!!! the only way i will get a HB before i absolutely need one is if one comes up on stuntlife for like 100 bucks. lol then i still wont put it on till i need it! im to the point now where with my slow shit if i turned my idle up i could catch idle, but my brake control needs to be ALOT better before i do that so my idle doesnt just take me back to 12 and i eat shit. i am gearing my bike this winter tho regardless. prolly -1 +6, im pretty stoked

chesterrr
08-29-2008, 04:15 PM
plus when you learn on stock you gotta relearn everything if you switch gears. so if youre planning to regear it, you may as well learn on the gearing. the only thing that would be beneficial to learn on stock gearing would be riding idle. which would be different anyway. yeahhh.

Burntz
08-29-2008, 05:24 PM

08-29-2008, 05:59 PM
shitttttt another beneficial thing is when all you guys can only kill shit on a bike with pizza pan sprockets.... i can murder on any bike with any gears! straight up. and when your handbrake loses pressure what you gonna use to keep from looping if you dont know how to use the footbrake? thats assuming your not doing any off peg tricks...

chesterrr
08-29-2008, 08:43 PM
it's stunting. you only need to ride your bike.. set up the way you like it. and i bet you couldn't hop on mine and murder anything.

01F4izzy
08-29-2008, 11:04 PM
I was kidding and I was sayin in the future when my skills aren't gahbage. I wasn't sayin right now I could hop on any bike and do anything. In the future I don't want to need a big sprocket just to stunt ride I wanna be able to do circles on stock gears no handbrake. Not many people can do that...

Nickels
08-30-2008, 12:26 AM
I can

01F4izzy
08-30-2008, 02:33 AM
and im not saying its a crime to get a handbrake. im just saying I dont think its logical until you need one, and as of now, nobody in town except for jordan, jim and like 1 or two others NEED a handbrake, or gearing for that matter. and another thing i dont understand is why everyone in town who doesnt ride at balance point is getting gearing, because all it does is shorten your 1st gear or second or whatever the fuck your doin wheelies in. so if your chasing balance point like alot of people in town (including me sometimes) you just cant ride your wheelies out for as long because you hit rev limiter faster, so in my eyes that makes no sense. that was just in general for everyone in town thats getting gearing so they can do WHEEEELLLIIIEEEESSSS. like its not possible on stock gears. so dont you guys go and get your panties in a wad it wasnt directed at you im just venting.

but seriously why do people think they need gearing to do wheelies?? trust me its just as possible on stock gears only its a bit more difficult. again not directed at you guys but someone answer the big question...

WHY DO PEOPLE THINK YOU NEED GEARS TO DO WHEELIES?!?!?!?!

oh and i think all of the PRO stunt riders and damn close to it ive talked to on stuntlife and other places say to learn on stock gears and no handbrake. and after a while to gear your bike. and i would say they know at least a LITTLE about stunt riding. maybe not tho i could be wrong. im telling you guys there is reasons for doing what im doing, if i didnt have good reasons i would have just went out and got sprockets and a handbrake... im not retarded i promise...

Burntz
08-30-2008, 02:36 AM
I'm sure now that i've been geared and have the hang of how the bike comes up and everything, that I could throw on stock gearing and be able to do about the same once I got used to it.

IMO, gearing makes wheelies easier, handbrakes make balance point easier, why not get em? Im not trying to impress anyone with the fact I can hold balance point with stock gears and foot brake, I just wanna do the dam things.

To each their own ya know.

01F4izzy
08-30-2008, 02:51 AM
im not trying to impress anyone either im trying to BUILD A GOOD BASE for my skills and not take the easy way out. and how does a handbrake make balance point easier? you also should be able to stay in balance point on engine braking alone by just making small adjustments. no brake needed unless you go behind BP. and if your in first engine brake will still bring you down from that. for instance i came about 2 inches from scraping the other night... BARELY used my brake, i just let off the throttle and engine braking brought me back into balance point from WAYYY behind it. and im on stock gears so if i had gearing the engine braking woulda been stroneger and brought me back into BP even faster. so i guess what im trying to say is that i dont think anyone when they are first starting NEEDS gears or a handbrake, or even to really be able to use footbrake unless your doing an idle wheelie. but everyone gets the stuff to make it easier, and theres nothin wrong with it i just dont agree with it...

Booner30
08-30-2008, 03:07 AM
Its like when someone builds a car to race, if you're gonna pull the motor, why not slap new pistons/rings in it?

according to this line of thinking its like oh well since i have the back wheel off to change my sprocket i might as well get on my handbrake and headlight before i put it back on...and bikes have motors too so thats not a very good comparison...we arent talking about doing any motor mods...only different things that you can add as you go on a stuntbike...it doesnt all have to be done at once...

plus you cant say that learning on stock gears doesnt help when you move up to new sprockets...you guys are learning fast shit on big ass gears, and maybe sometime will try to slow it down...you can get gears to polish your skills after learning on stock sprockets or you can get big gears right away and chase balance point all day any day...i think my sister could do that! now it is possible to start with aftermarket sprockets right away but that would only make sense if you actually wanted to slow shit down, otherwise you might as well keep your stock sprockets and chase balance point on some long ass strip of road! if you are just chasing the whole time stock gears will let you ride your wheelies longer, which has probably been said already...

Burntz
08-30-2008, 03:11 AM
I never said I needed anything, I just wanted it. I got the handbrake to slow shit down, I can't use the footbrake for shit. yap I said it.

01F4izzy
08-30-2008, 03:17 AM
yea i understand you wanted it because yea the FB is kinda tough to use. but then again i was riding wheelies at bp the other day around 10-15 mph, not on idle, not even touching the brake... so yea what im tryin to say is you dont need to use FB or get a HB to slow shit down either.

chesterrr
08-30-2008, 02:24 PM
personally, im all about lot stunting. slow and technical. i pull up in 4th gear when im out on the road. so its capable but not ideal. i will get another bike and keep it stock for high speed stuff. but for now, my only interest is technical riding. so gearing is good. when learning slow shit, more engine breaking, more torque, which means hitting balance point at a lower rpm and being closer to idle right away. obviously you can do it stock, but i could also learn on my gears and then turn around and learn everything on my other stock bike later. so i dont see a difference. this bike is his stunt bike. so it should be set up for stunting. i dont see what the argument is at alll.

Nickels
08-30-2008, 02:43 PM

god damn i wasnt trying to argue! i was just making sure everyone knows that you dont need sprockets and a handbrake to stunt! all you need is a damn bike. and another point i was trying to get at is i think learning stock gears and no HB will make your skills better in the long run.

Burntz
08-30-2008, 04:33 PM
Its more of a friendly argument nickels, simma down.

Starting stock could help you build a better base and be an overall stunter.

Or jumping straight into gearing with every accessory could make you better overall by giving you the tools you need to learn quicker and have more time to master everything. You never know.

I personally think it relies on the shoulders of whoever is learning.

I usually just jump right into shit.
I didnt start riding dirt bikes on a 125, i started on a 250r, and i cleared a small table top popper after going around the track like 5 times. Then the second time out, i cleared a 15 foot double. Sometimes, you dont need to dip your feet in the pool, just hold on to your balls and jump in.

because learning everything on stock, when you move up you will progress really really fast because of how much easier it is. and you dont have to "re-learn" anything you already have all of the skills, and know what the bike is gonna do and how to handle it, you just have to move up and refine your skills and progress. its not like when you get gears someone whacks you in the head with a baseball bat and you lose all memory of how to ride a motorcycle...

You will know how to ride the bike well by that point, but what you won't be ready for is how much more responsive and touchy the bike will be. Thus making riding a geared bike harder then stock. But a geared bike gets the front wheel up easier. So who's actually taking the easy way out?

This could be the funniest thing I've seen this week. I can't look away. I look and laugh..... I look again and laugh again..... The resemblance is uncanny. Funny, funny shit.

Seriously dude, I like the headlight.

but seriously.

you all need a new motto.

and really.. take a deep breath because this is going to be a serious mind fuck for a few of you.

"to each his own"

that just happened.

so instead of bitching about someone elses stuff, just realize that it is just an insecurity on your part and that you have nothing better to do that sit online and talk shit.

and if you have a problem admitting that, lets see where a little face to face goes. because forum shit talking is just being a bitch.

Well I don't know about everyone else but I am just givin Justin shit because in my opinion my headlight looks better, and in his opinion his looks better. And yes I would say it to his face and he would say it to my face. Because that's what we do... Joke around! But nickels is really a homo and I'm not joking around about that...

just going to throw that out there. go ahead and assume what you want. but i'm going to have to say its a little hypocritical. besides all of us joke we know we do. not like i'm going to hate someone for something said over the enet.

are you saying chet has nothing to do but sit online and talk shit? cuz he's like the busiest person i've ever seen. He was saying if you don't like the headlight, don't bother saying it, cuz I prolly don't care, and he was right. We both like our headlights

Made an improvement yesterday. Got my stator cover in, and my MSR. Got the msr on, and now my clutch and brake levers are actually next to each other. Its nice.

Also did a couple things to chets bike :)

I wish I would have taken better pictures here. Where the orange seal is, is where the old oil pickup was. Ill grab a pic of the old oil pickup sometime. It had a screen and went towards the front, this one just went straight down. No screen either, kinda makes me nervous.
